What is Our Vision?

We are a community of young adults yearning to better understand and more courageously practice what it means to deeply live. We believe God does not desire for us to merely exist and go through the motions, but to really live within an ever-deepening and dynamic relationship with Himself. In our quest to be rid of the complacency plaguing our daily lives, we have arranged our community life within particular rhythms:

Truth

In an effort to help us more deeply incorporate Truth into our daily lives, we are currently studying one Fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5) per six week cycle. This allows us to really dig into each fruit and evaluate how it intersects our lives rather than attempting to learn and then apply different truths each week. Since we highly value corporate engagement, our Sunday mornings emphasize biblical teaching that is discussion-based.

Daily Living

Since Truth is meant to be lived and not only discussed, we spend a large chunk of each Sunday morning sharing and discussing how we interacted with the Scripture and how we sought to implement the fruit within our daily routines. This is the time for sharing what is going on in our lives rather than simply saying what we think we ought. We need to be real with each other by including our struggles, insights, successes, failures, and growth. It is a reminder that life is messy and growth can be hard for everyone and that we're not alone.

Service

Integral to real life is our call to love God and love others. Practically, we strive to better love others by tutoring local elementary students through Whiz Kids during the school year, growing and harvesting a community garden to raise funds for Cimarron Elementary during the summer, dedicating a part of our budget for needs we see around us on a monthly basis, and emphasizing love for others as part of our personal daily journeys with God.

Community

Deep life is not and cannot be lived alone. Our relationships are highly important to us, as are our various talents, gifts, quirks, and experiences. We spend time at the beginning of each Sunday before the service sharing a bagel or cup of coffee or tea with a friend and catching up on the week. We also encourage our community members deepen relationships outside of Sunday services. We truly need each other as we navigate through the messiness of life!
